There is nothing worse than finding a home you love only to find out your cannot qualify for the mortgage or the payments are beyond your comfort level.

Remember a mortgage payment includes principal, interest, taxes and insurance. And the location of the home (flood zone) can also increase your insurance payments making your mortgage payments higher.

Never use the taxes of the current owner because a home sale in Florida triggers a tax reassessment at your purchase price minus any discounts such as homestead, veteran, widow, etc.
